Screening
Procedure for Nursing Jobs
-- LPNs,
RNs, GNAs, CNAs,
CMAs
Experience
No applicant will be selected
and referred to a client facility unless they establish
that they possess the requisite education, skills, experience or ability to
perform the essential job functions without unreasonable accommodations.
In ascertaining the levels of the experience which, you, as a potential
member of the agency’s nursing personnel have had, you will be required to
detail any relevant experiences they have had from previous jobs, duties or
through research.
You will be required to provide the names of any supervisor(s) or
other persons who may be contacted for verifications.
As a job applicant, you will be required to complete and sign an Application for Employment
Form and as well as an Employment Background Form (whether or not you made
your initial application online).
The appropriate position description will be reviewed with you during the
interview process.
What the Agency
Will Do With Your Information
After you have been interviewed, the interviewer will screen your completed Application for Employment Form
very carefully; confirm all past employment (especially the two most recent
jobs); investigate all “red flags” such as gap in work history or failure to
provide required information.
If successful, the agency will enter your information in its database of its personnel with
keywords that can be used when the database is queried to provide the best
matches to any kinds of specialized tasks for which the agency may be asked
to refer nursing personnel.
Candidates Without Substantial Experience
Notwithstanding any of the foregoing, the agency recognizes that
“experience” is not a binary function, which somebody possesses or does not
posses. Anyone that has successfully gone through an accredited nursing
services training program and has also gone through the required clinical
practice, as well as the State licensing or certification exercises, is assumed to
have some basic experience. Moreover, certain nursing tasks can be performed
with minimal “experience” and/or basic training. As such, the lack of
substantive or substantial “experience” will not preclude nursing personnel
from being selected or referred to a job or duty for which elaborate
experience is not germane or for which the client has not specifically
requested nursing personnel with specific levels experience. Moreover,
certain nursing tasks will require close supervision by higher level or more
experienced personnel of the client facility or the agency.
