Responsibilities
Agency nursing personnel, who are qualified and authorized to practice
Registered Nursing (RN) engage in performance of acts requiring
substantial specialized knowledge, judgment and skill based on the
biological, physiological, behavioral or sociological sciences as the basis
for assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation
of the practice of nursing. They participate in assessing, planning,
implementing, evaluating and documenting nursing care of patients in
accordance with agency home health care (private duty) or client facility policies and in accordance with standards of
professional nursing practice.
Typically, an RN's work duties include:

Treating
patients |

Helping to
establish a plan of care or contributing to an existing plan |

■ |
Supervising,
LPNs, nursing aides and assistants |
|
■ |
Educating
patients about various medical conditions |
|
■ |
Providing
advice and emotional support to patients’ family members |
|
■ |
Recording
patients’ medical histories and symptoms |
|
■ |
Helping
perform diagnostic tests and analyzing results |
|
■ |
Operating
medical machinery |
|
■ |
Administering treatment and medications |
|
■ |
Helping with
patient follow-up and rehabilitation |
|
■ |
Explaining
post-treatment home care needs; diet, nutrition, and
exercise programs;
and self-administration of medication and
physical therapy |
RNs are
accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by themselves or
others who are under their direction. Our RNs do
private duty jobs, and also work in a variety of settings
like nursing homes, hospitals, doctors' offices and other outpatient
facilities, long term care facilities, clinics and home care.
Qualifications
The following are required from RN applicants:

Current
State of Maryland RN license with no restrictions |

Effective
communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills |
|
■ |
A minimum of
one (1) year of nursing experience |
|
■ |
Current CPR
certification |
|
■ |
Positive
attitude towards the elderly |
|
■ |
Respect for
regulations, policies and procedures |
|
■ |
Good
computer skills |
|
■ |
Reliable
transportation |
|
■ |
Background

Copy of
updated TB results/Chest x-ray* |

Screening
