Responsibilities
Agency nursing personnel, who are qualified and authorized to practice
Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) perform in a team relationship and under
the direction of doctors, registered nurses and nurse managers.
Typically, a LPN's work duties include:

Taking vital
signs |

Preparing
and administering injections and enemas |

Applying
dressings and bandages |
|
■ |
Watching
catheters |
|
■ |
Treating
bedsores |
|
■ |
Providing
alcohol massages or rubs |

Monitoring
patients and reporting changes |
|
■ |
Collecting
samples for testing |
|
■ |
Providing
patient hygiene |
|
■ |
Feeding
patients |
|
■ |
Monitoring
food and liquid input/output |
Our LPNs do
private duty jobs, or work in
a variety of settings like nursing homes, hospitals, doctors' offices and
other outpatient facilities, long term care facilities and clinics. Experienced LPNs may also supervise nursing aides and assistants.
Qualifications
The following are required from LPN applicants:

Current
State of Maryland LPN license with no restrictions |

Minimum of
one (1) year of nursing experience |
|
■ |
Current CPR
certification |
|
■ |
Positive
attitude towards the elderly |
|
■ |
Respect for
regulations, policies and procedures |
|
■ |
Good verbal
and written communication skills |
|
■ |
Basic
computer skills |
|
■ |
Current
driver's license |
|
■ |
Reliable
transportation |
|
■ |
Background

Copy of
updated TB results/Chest x-ray* |

additional required vaccinations and/or tests depending on assignments.
Screening
All applicants for nursing positions undergo comprehensive
background screening.
