Private Duty Nursing Care
Diabetic Management
(Services available to both adults and children)
Diabetes is a chronic disease, for which, currently, there is
no cure. It is associated with an impaired glucose cycle, altering
metabolism. Our approach to the management of this disease includes working
with patients (and their families, where applicable) on lifestyle
modifications such as achieving and maintaining proper weight, diet,
exercise and foot care. The primary issue requiring management is the
glucose cycle, whereby glucose in the bloodstream is made available to cells
in the body, a process dependent upon the twin cycles of glucose entering
the bloodstream, and insulin allowing appropriate uptake into the cells of
the body. We seek to enable patients to live as independently as possible
while safely managing their own diabetic care.
Our well experienced nurses, work with the patients' physicians, to provide
support, education and assistance to diabetic patients and their families..
